Sophanna Ouch

Business Development Specialist

My job:
We work directly with the factories and our focus is on pricing. It’s about accessing and identifying the market and setting out a strategy on how to win business. The teams use business tools to create deep dives on what our customers or factories need, create the business plan, and win. We pay a lot of attention to the customer and use our facilities to support our business.

What inspires me:
I was born into a poor family and my mother is illiterate. My mom was also a single mother and she took care of five of us. My mom said, in whatever condition, the principle of honesty must be at the top of your priority list, whether you're at work or with your family or your friend. No matter what, we need to honest to everyone - our customers, manager. That way we can share more information, get the most out of each other and be productive. I bring all of these concepts to my team and work.

My path to RBIS:
I trained as a professional soccer player. After trying out for a team, I saw ads for a garment textile company that had a soccer player on it, so I figured I should apply. I stayed there for four years then wanted to look for something new that would help me develop new skills. I wanted to know and understand how everything worked. That is how I came to Avery Dennison.

How I exhibit the RBIS core values:
Speed and flexibility is key. In Cambodia, there are many accessory suppliers, so being competitive in pricing and delivering results at top speed is critical.

Best career advice I’ve received:
Be humble and never give up. No matter the situation with a customer, we fight to win and adjust strategy for them. We never give up.
